🔧 Cummins Sales and Service

Absolutely awful dealing with their service department. Takes weeks and multiple follow ups to get a response on a service quote for repairs.

Brought our 2002 Tiffin Zephyr RV 450 Cummins side mount into this shop for an overheating issue in November 2024. Minimum charge was a 4 hour diagnostic ($200+/hr). Service rep called the next day to identify problems were pinholes and a flange. We had no loss of antifreeze during our 1,000+ drive from Utah, so we doubted this analysis. Service manager then said then it had to be the radiator, a $8,000 replacement cost. We were not convinced, but authorized the replacement of the serpentine belt to see if it would fix the problem. Test drove the RV after several days at the shop. Nearly $2,000 in repair charges later, the problem reoccurred on the first hill after leaving San Antonio. After returning home to the Sacramento (CA) area, a truck mechanic specialist diagnosed the problem in 30 minutes: A two-speed fan module, a $200 part. Very, very disappointed that at 2 different Cummins outlets, San Antonio and Moab, neither location could diagnose or solve this apparently minor issue costing us nearly $4000 in unnecessary charges.

As with all Cummins facilities we have had the pleasure of visiting for repairs, this was no different! Clean, friendly, informative and professional. They were able to correct the repair that was suppose to be fixed by a non-cummins facility?!? Found the issue and had us back on the road quickly! Thanks to all who helped us and worked on our rig!!!
